How long will the examination take?
Most eye exams are under 30 minutes. General spectacles examinations take about 20 minutes, while the more involved contact lens examination takes 25-30 minutes
What insurances are accepted for the examination?
Currently, we do not accept any vision insurance for examinations. However, we will gladly provide an itemized receipt copy you can submit for any reimbursement you might have. While we cannot take any insurance for the examination, the optical department does accept most plans for material orders.
We do, however, accept all major credit cards including Visa, American Express, Mastercard, Discover, and most Health Savings Account cards.
Do you accept walk ins?
While we can only guarantee examinations for appointments made ahead of time, we can usually accept most walk ins. For couples or families of two or more, appointments are generally better; but if you are in the store and wondering feel free to poke your head in and ask!
If you prefer to make an appointment, we can usually schedule as close or as far out as you would like
Will my eyes be dilated?
In most case, we will not have to dilate. With newer technology, we have other instruments that avoid it.
What is the Optomap?
The Optomap is the most recent addition to our advanced medical instruments. The Optomap allows us to get a view of your entire retina without having to dilate. Traditional methods of retinal imaging typically reveal only 10-15% of the retina at one time. Optomap imaging is available to new or existing patients for $40, but is included in the cost of the regular glasses or contact lens examination.
